The University of the West Indies, Mona hopes all staff and students are safe after the passage of Hurricane Beryl. We take note of the discontinuation of the hurricane warning by the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), and having done our own preliminary assessment, will reopen the Campus for normal operations on Friday, July 5, 2024. We are however aware that some roads are currently blocked and therefore advise our staff and students to follow the updates from the National Works Agency (NWA) with respect to the clearing of roadways as you make preparations to come to the Campus.
