The team at the Hugh Wynter Institute wants to highlight the significance of March as Endometriosis Awareness Month. Endometriosis is a common yet often misdiagnosed condition that affects many women, including our friends, family, and colleagues.
Endometriosis is a painful disorder in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing symptoms such as severe pelvic pain, heavy periods, and infertility. It is crucial to raise awareness about this condition to improve understanding, early diagnosis, and support for those affected.
Throughout this month, we encourage you, our University family, to participate in our Endo-related events, educate yourself about endometriosis, support those who may be struggling with the condition, and promote conversations that help break the silence surrounding this often invisible illness. Just to point out that 1 in 10 women suffers from Endometriosis.
Together, we can make a difference by increasing awareness, fostering empathy, and advocating for better care for ladies living with endometriosis.
Thank you for joining us in spreading awareness and support during Endometriosis Awareness Month.
