The University of the West Indies (The UWI) is pleased to announce its six newest Professors, that include a Legal Scholar, Political Scientist, Educational Psychologist, Natural Products Researcher, Microbiologist and Tourism Specialist.

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) is deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. James (Jimmy) Moss-Solomon, former Executive in Residence at the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM).

The management of The University of the West Indies (The UWI) and the West Indies Group of University Teachers (WIGUT - Jamaica) met this morning to discuss the outstanding items of claim including the matter of the 4 per cent salary item.

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) joins the global community in mourning the passing of Hollywood’s revered star, Sir Sidney Poitier, who passed away on January 7, 2022.
